Coffee Shops in Allentown Pennsylvania

FILED IN: Couples

So, anyone who knows me knows I LOVE COFFEE!!

Don’t get me wrong, I love Starbucks, there’s just something about independent coffee shops and the different environments they provide!

So, while this is not a complete list I will mention the ones I absolutely love and I think are worth the trip!

Also, let me add, I am no coffee expert I just love it.  I also basically just get lattes at all these places so I am mainly speaking for the lattes.  I can’t tell you about how their macchiatos, cappuccinos, and americanos are because I’ve just stayed with lattes because in my opinion they’re the best!

The Wise Bean Coffee & Espresso — 634 N New St, Bethlehem, PA 18018

This little coffee shop is tucked in a little alley off of Main Street Bethlehem.  It’s a small quaint little shop that has a comfy couch and great service! Their pastries are super fresh and their latte’s are incredible! I went there this past fall and their fall flavors were unique and delicious -so naturally I got two!

Hava Java — 526 N 19th St, Allentown, PA 18104

Hava Java is located right near the Allentown Fair Grounds they claim to have the best coffee in the Valley and I honestly can say I think that’s true! At least their lattés! I love going here for a solid cup of joe and I’m super excited to be living within walking distance to this cute shop in a couple months! Hoping to get to local status where I can walk in and get  “the usual”. Anyone else always wished that was a possibility?!

Taylors Coffee House and Roastery — 1924 Main St, Northampton, PA 18067

Okay, guys… This one is definitely one of my favorites!! They roast their own beans on site so the aroma is incredible! It is a very cute, clean coffee shop that I love to hit up! I just wish it was a little closer to my house! The good news is that you can buy their beans there and brew them at home! I highly recommend them!

The Joint Coffee Shop — Facing the Sun Inn Courtyard, 77 W Broad St #18C, Bethlehem, PA 18018

This coffee shop you really have to look for! Low-key walked around the building 3 times before I found it. Literally I felt like Joshua marching around Jericho – good news! Eventually I found it! This place is so quaint and has unique under-ground vibes to it.  The owner roasts his own beans and makes his own flavors.. If you like lattes and lavender… YOU NEED TO GET THE LAVENDER LATTE!!!! It’s my staple and I’m obsessed! Okay… Moving on!

South Mountain Cycle & Cafe — 337 Chestnut St, Emmaus, PA 18049

This little shop is super unique.  It combines a bike shop with a coffee shop. So for those adventurers out there who need to get their bikes fixed up you can go here and get your ride fixed up and enjoy a good cup of joe while you wait!

Coffee House Without Limits — 707 N 4th St, Allentown, PA 18102

So this little shop is located in historic Allentown right off Tilghman street. They have a very homey enviornment and the staff is super personable and enjoyable.  This coffee shop is open until 10pm for those late night coffee drinkers! They also hav a calendar full of open mic nights, poetry reading, and art shows for the creatives of the valley to enjoy!

Muggles Mug — 79 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229

So this one is a bit of a hike out of the Lehigh Valley… BUT it’s super worth it!  This little coffee shop is located in Jim Thorpe and I love it.  We had this coffee the day we got engaged so it’s even more special to my heart.  This shop is Harry Potter themed and even though I’ve never seen those movies I still love the atmosphere (I’m hearing all the judgmental thoughts of Harry Potter fans everywhere).  This place has a ton of room, they have couches and a giant projector that plays movies throughout the day! Their coffee is also excellent and they have movie themed lattes that are also super yummy!

I hope this blog post has inspired you to scout out your local coffee shops and try them out! They all provide a unique experience and I’m ALL about supporting the small businesses of Allentown.

I have a list of other coffee shops in the area that I have yet to try as well but once I’ve tried more of those I’ll be sure to write a second part to this post about that!

Also, let me know if there are any coffee shops that you know and love in this area– I’d LOVE to check it out!!
