I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding in Maine for Johannah and Clayton. I know Johannah through my husband, Vincent. They are first cousins and Vincent grew up in Maine and knew Clayton from a very young age. When Johannah asked me to be their photographer I was nothing short of honored and excited.
Johannah is an artist which typically hiring another artist is not an easy task. As artists we tend to see the world through creative lenses which makes decision making a difficult task at times.
Vincent and I traveled up to main and were able to stay with family up there for a long weekend of reuniting with family and friends. We are always down to travel and especially love traveling together. Vincent and I have driven across the country multiple times and still love each other which volumes about our love for road trips and adventure! Growing up my family would drive to Florida annually and we made the trek to Jackson Hole several times without stopping. Nothing like 36 hours straight in a van with family and little sleep. Those are honestly some of the best memories though!
Any who we love traveling and the opportunity to shoot in another state especially a beautiful and rugged state like Maine was so fun.
Clayton and Johannah got married on the front lawn of her grandparents home surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was a smaller intimate wedding with burgers grilled by her brother, Mitchell and a cake made by her sister. The whole production was a family event and it was so special to be a part of. Johannah’s dad married her and Clayton which was so unique. They had a quick reception and then we headed to Castine, Maine to catch the sunset for some epic portraits. One of the best parts..? It was June which in Maine means… Lupines! These wildflowers are native to Northern America and an iconic site in Maine and various other states across the United States.
Okay okay. I will stop talking about their wedding and just show you!
