Kate & Tyler’s Engagement Trexler Nature Preserve

FILED IN: Couples, engagement

Not going to lie, Trexler Nature Preserve is one of my FAVORITE places to shoot at. You may already know this from previous shoots I’ve done there. I think it is gorgeous with the views of the valley and the vast differences in greenery. Something that can be tricky about being a photographer in Pennsylvania is ALL the green! It’s a true love-hate relationship, ask anyone from the west and they will say one thing they miss is all the green. Which to me, you have the Rocky mountains and you miss Pennsylvania greens. Absolutely not.

I will say, I just recently started to notice all the variations in greenery and appreciate the beauty within it.

With photography, green is difficult to nail. You have to balance your subject looking too green and then you have to watch to make sure your grass and greenery isn’t too yellow versus too blue. Additionally, it is difficult to balance the exposure making sure the grass isn’t too bright versus dark and the subject is well lit. You can see previous engagement sessions I’ve done in trying to balance the greenery. It’s a complicated task that I have yet to fully say I’ve mastered but I think I’m getting close!!

Anyway, enough rambling. Enter Kate and Tyler, they met in high school, and slowly Kate made it into Tyler’s close group of friends that had been close since grade school. They went to different colleges but that didn’t stop them from starting a relationship. They dated through college and Tyler popped the question during a walk through a nature preserve.

Not Trexler Nature Preserve but it felt fitting for their engagement session!

Recently Tyler accepted a job in Charleston, NC and so they moved there until their wedding in December. I’m majorly envious because Charleston has been a bucket list location for me for awhile. Enough of my ramblings, without further-ado, Tyler & Kate’s engagement session at Trexler Nature Preserve.
